The file: FOWL Radio 2
Length: 40:52 mins
Size: 37.7 MB

We made it to our second episode! Hopefully we get the snyc problems right this time around.
You gotta give us some credit though, eh, this is Switzerland to India - we're continents apart!

In this episode we cover India, Hindi and more stuff about and India.

We also play a cool song by "Donnie Davito" - not Danny! It's called Das Leben des Philosphen
and yes, it's in German too. Here's a link to Starfrosch, the music network/podcast from where we got the song.

Keep listening in and come back to FOWL around with us!

Oops... some synchronization problems

Uh-oh, just heard the mp3, we've got some sync problems!
We'll do our next episode over iChat... directly into GarageBand.

Sorry for the mix-up, it sounds like we're constantly interrupting each other. We're actually not. We were pretty much in sync while chatting, but it turns out our tracks weren't. Really sorry.

(teething problems)

P.S. Should be ok now!

Our first episode of FOWL Radio!

This is our first episode of FOWL Radio, our podcast about language and how to have fun with it.
FOWL, once more, is an acronym for "Fun Of & With Language".
Our podcast is and going to be about Hindi, German and English - in English.
Chris, from Switzerland is interested in Indian culture, Hindi and podcasting.
Simran is a German language student from India interested in Swiss-German and more.
We both hope that we can learn a bit or two from each other and perhaps entertain a bunch of people along the way too.

FOWL Radio 1: Introductions and Euro-English

Our show notes:

In this episode we talk a little about our selves and where we're from and also discuss our plans and ideas for this podcast.
Simran reads out a joke Christian got in a forward about the possibility of there being a Euro-English.

Euro English

Well, the first episode of the podcast has been produced & will be coming up shortly - suspense is becoming unbearable!! :)

While it's uploading, here's the text about Euro English we've been talking about. That way, you can actually see how English does morph into German:

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".
Sertainly, this will make
the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This
should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond
year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will
make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling
kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are
possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double
letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent
"e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th"
with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from
vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl
riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil
find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil
finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German
like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.

And here is source of Sommer, Sonne, Meer!

Enjoy, and let us know what you think!
